Advanced Graduate Intern 2008
The Charities Advisory Trust (www.charitiesadvisorytrust.org.uk) offers internships for recent graduates, providing valuable experience of the voluntary sector. The Trust.s Advanced Graduate Internships are designed for those who have had at least 2 years work experience since graduation. This does not need to be in the voluntary sector.
We require highly motivated self-starters with a strong commitment to working in the voluntary sector. Internships are based in London in a young, dynamic team.
The work entails involvement in the Trust.s varied and innovative work including the Card Aid Christmas card campaign (www.cardaid.co.uk) and the Good Gifts Catalogue (www.goodgifts.org). Most Advanced Interns work as Supervisors in the Card Aid shops, acting as a liason between the Shop Managers and the office staff, with specific responsibility for a number of shops.
Posts can also entail involvement in other aspects of the Trust.s innovative and varied work. Interns may learn about fundraising administration, grant giving, initiatives such as the Green Hotel in Mysore, and volunteer management.
Posts vary in length and usually finish at Christmas, although some interns move on to more permanent positions within the Trust, and much of the Trust.s management is drawn from its previous interns. An advanced internship would be ideal for someone considering a move to the voluntary sector, wanting some relevant experience.
The salary for internships is currently £17,250 p.a. pro rata.
